It was released in 1968 and became the band's first and only number one album and spawned their second number one single, Hello, I Love You. The Doors - Waiting For The Sun 1968. With a few exceptions, the material was much mellower, and while this yielded some fine melodic ballad rock in Love Street, Wintertime Love, Summer's Almost Gone, and Yes, the River Knows, there was no denying that the songwriting was not as impressive as it had been on the first two records. Whether all this adds up to the praise that has been heaped on the Doors in some circles is open to question. Waiting for the Sun is the third studio album by the American rock band the Doors. With the exception of two songs, the material for this album was written after the band's initial songs from the formation of the group had been recorded for their debut album and second album, Strange Days. Of course the rest of the disc is pretty damned good as well. The first single released off the album was The Unknown Soldier. Listening to the new Doors album, Waiting For The Sun, reminded me of Zappa and also how good the first Doors album was yet after a year and a half of Jim Morrisons posturing one might logically hope for some sort of musical growth, and if the new record isnt really terrible, it isnt particularly exciting either. Nevertheless the Doors are not a particularly exciting hard rock band and Morrison is something like rock musics equivalent to Rod McKuen. The Unknown Soldier and Hello, I Love You were the two singles released for the album. Waiting for the Sun - The Doors

Can anyone tell me if this is a stereo recording fold down?
It is indeed a fold down mix .
All of the waiting for the sun mono albums were a fold down except 1 song. I believe yes the river knows was the only one recorded in mono.
