Album

Tha Doggfather is the second studio album by American rapper Snoop Doggy Dogg. It was released on November 12, 1996, by Death Row Records and Interscope Records. After the success of his debut album Doggystyle 1993, Snoop was charged with murder and in 1995, spent time preparing for the case that went to trial. In February 1996, he was cleared of all charges and began working on his second album without Dr. Dre providing work as a record producer. This was Snoop's final album on Death Row Records. Doggfather is a single by American rapper Snoop Doggy Dogg featuring vocals by American musician Charlie Wilson. It was released in August 26, 1997 as the third and final single from Snoop's second album Tha Doggfather 1996. Daz Dillinger produced Doggfather, and wrote it with Snoop Doggy Dogg and Charlie Wilson. The hip hop song samples Humpin' from Wilson's group The Gap Band. Doggfather didn't chart in the US, but peaked at number 20 in both New Zealand and the UK. Текст песни: I put down more hits than mafioso made And Lucky Lucianno 'bout to sing soprano And I know, I know the way you feel And baby bubba we gon' keep it on tha Doggy Dogg - Tha Doggfather Full Album. US Doggfather is the second studio album by American rapper Snoop Doggy Dogg. It was released on November 12, 1996, by Death Row Records and Interscope Doggfather was the second album from Snoop Doggy Dogg, his last under that name and his last on Death Row Records. It was released on November 12, 1996, one week after the release of 2Pacs Makaveli album, which was his first posthumous album following his death on September 13, 1996. With the success of Snoops debut album, Doggystyle, the anticipation for his sophomore album was very high with people wondering how the album would sound after his acquittal on a murder charge along with the departure of Dr. Dre from Death Row around the time this album was in production. A lot happened to Snoop Doggy Dogg between his debut, Doggystyle, and his second album, Tha Doggfather. During those three years, he became the most notorious figure in hip-hop through a much-publicized murder trial, where he was found not guilty, and he also became a father. Musically, the most important thing to happen to Snoop was the parting of ways between his mentor Dr. Dre and his record label, Death Row. Dre's departure from Death Row meant that Snoop had to handle the production duties on Tha Doggfather himself, and the differences between the two records are immediately apparent. The album debuted at number one during the week of November 12, 1996, selling over 420,000 copies, but it failed to match the commercial success of Doggystyle.
